Profile overview
Charlotte and Yumichika are matched through vanity, performance and hidden power rather than simple resemblance. Both care intensely about beauty, but each uses the word to defend a different self-image. Their insults are funny until they begin determining which techniques the fighters are willing to reveal.
The decisive irony is spatial. Charlotte surrounds the battle with darkness to make a private stage for the finishing performance. That enclosure also hides Yumichika from Squad 11, removing the social pressure that keeps his true Shikai secret. Charlotte creates the exact condition under which the opponent can stop pretending.
Charlotte Chuhlhourne is Arrancar 20 and one of Baraggan Louisenbairn's Fraccion. During the battle in Fake Karakura Town, Charlotte faces Yumichika Ayasegawa in a theatrical argument over beauty that develops into a dangerous duel. Charlotte's own dark enclosure gives Yumichika privacy to reveal Ruri'iro Kujaku, which drains the Arrancar's spiritual power. Mayuri Kurotsuchi later revives Charlotte for the Corpse Unit.
