Profile overview
Chizuru is most useful to the story as part of the social world that makes Orihime more than a combatant. Her presence at school gives Orihime friendship, embarrassment and ordinary teenage attention. During the Hollow attack, that familiar face becomes a weapon against her, making protection emotionally immediate rather than abstract.
