Profile overview
Keigo's fear is never hidden, and that is what gives his courage weight. He cries, shouts and wants someone stronger to solve the problem, yet he does not abandon an unconscious classmate or stop searching for the rest of the group. Bleach lets him be frightened and dependable at the same time.
His friendship with Ichigo also records the cost of secrecy. Keigo senses that Ichigo, Chad and the others share a life from which he is excluded, but he lacks the language to ask directly. The Aizen crisis finally makes the invisible world undeniable, turning a comic school friend into a civilian who understands how dangerous Ichigo's responsibilities have always been.
Keigo Asano is one of Ichigo Kurosaki's classmates at Karakura High School and Mizuiro Kojima's closest companion. He begins the story as a loud, unserious teenager who worries more about grades, popularity and being excluded than the spirits surrounding Ichigo. Continued exposure to powerful spiritual beings gradually sharpens his awareness. When Sosuke Aizen enters the real Karakura Town, Keigo remains conscious, carries Chizuru Honshō away from danger, gathers the other students and briefly takes Zennosuke Kurumadani's Zanpakuto because it is the only weapon he believes might survive contact with Aizen.
